About George Schmilinsky

George started his entrepreneurial career in college (1990), when he started a low-cost food delivery service for cheap and culinary challenged college students. Since then George has been on the management team of several other successful ventures in the technology, medical devices and financial services industries.  George’s ventures include Tailor Research, Longbow Research, ThinkEquity Partners, Thomas Weisel Partners and Vapore Inc.

George has dedicated over twenty years of his life to understanding the tenets of creating a successful business.  He studied under entrepreneur legend Steve Blank, while reading hundreds of books and research papers on various entrepreneurial subjects.

George’s particular interests are on customer development, acquisition and iteration; Refining operational efficiency through minimalist thinking — an essential part of entrepreneurship; Starting a division or business through bootstrapping; and financing options available to an entrepreneur.

George has an MBA degree from Columbia University where he graduated with Honors, as well as the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.  He also holds a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
